Uh, oh another Google Doodle, the Guitar Kind… I just wrote a post and already 5 min after I've already had 20 people come through… Although I'm sure they're all too shy or lazy to leave comments… Check it out when you have a chance… Yes, I love the 3 …'s Oh, and I am subscribing to your blog, I ask that you do the same for mine? I'm new at this blog marketing/self promotion and I'm trying to follow proper blog sharing etiquette… again the (…) I can't help myself… haha

Google serves themselves not the county.
    To answer your questions
    1. If no one knows what memorial day is all the more reason to have a link and encourage people to learn about it.
    2. The way you celibate memorial day is by taking a second or two out of your life to acknowledge the fact the people have DIED so folks at google can get super rich and not pay taxes.
    3. I spent memorial day working on mythis.com

I would also note that the same questions posted above could equally be applied to Israel Independence day…which google did do a doodle for (http://www.timesofisrael.com/google-honors-israels-64th/).
    Keep clicking on those ads!

Another reader emailed me asking a few questions about this post, made a year ago. Part of my reply I made public (it sounded thoughtful enough), you can read it here: http://zylblog.com/2012/05/google-memorial-day-do
There is no sure answer, Google\’s making a big deal out of it would probably have resulted in complaints, and their absence of a doodle resulted in complaints. Frankly, I think the ribbon was met to be a median, and I\’d like to think it worked and was more thoughtful.
      Oh well.
