Defraggler: Advanced Disk Defragmentation

Defraggler LogoDefraggler is an advanced disk-defragmentation tool for Windows. It’s main advantage, in my opinion, is for XP Users since it allows you to easily schedule defragmentation whenever you would like it. Similar to defragmentation in Windows 98, you can also choose to move large files to the end of the drive, and have a visual representation of defragmentation showing the individual blocks of your hard drive and their contained files.

A “Quick Defrag” option is also offered for a faster defragmention, skipping files with little to no defragmentation and only defragmenting files that need it the most.

Not only is it faster and more advanced, it is really very easy to use. Defraggler has a straight-forward interface. No additional options need to be configured to get it running, unless you choose to make advanced changes. A very “Install, click, click, run” program.

(Or, you can switch to Linux, which uses a filesystem desgined to never have fragmentation problems as long as you are using less than 80% of your drive)

Description from their website:
Use Defraggler to defrag your entire hard drive, or individual files – unique in the industry. This compact and portable Windows application supports NTFS and FAT32 file systems.

About Jesse Zylstra

Hey! My name is Jesse Zylstra, and I am the administrator of this website. I used to write about free software and programs, online web applications, and new technology -- especially open-source. Now I just write udder nonsense. I also play pipe organ, which I'm told is a fun and interesting fact about me. In the past, I studied network administration. Now I've been trying to pursue a real fake bachelors degree for the last, oh, 10 years or so.
