Ninite: An Automatic Installer (Windows & Linux)

Ninite is a free online service that creates “mega-installers”, allowing you to simply check the box of each program you want to use and download an installer which will download the programs for you, and install them.

No clicking next, no accepting agreements, it just installs the software.

Ninite is mainly for Windows, but has a Linux version. The Linux version has a limited amount of software.

Ninite is a great website to remember for when you must reformat your computer. It will cut the installation time down an incredible amount. It is also a wonderful tool for computer technicians, and businesses (who should use the pro version).

The programs that I use are FireFox,

Pidgin, VLC, K-Lite Codecs, Audacity, Java, Flash, FireFox

Flash, Silverlight, Air, Inkscape, OpenOffice, FoxIt Reader, Microsoft Security Essencials, uTorrent, Google Earth, CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Putty, and FileZille — but the list

goes on (and would

take far too much space to

write out every program).

About Jesse Zylstra

Hey! My name is Jesse Zylstra, and I am the administrator of this website. I used to write about free software and programs, online web applications, and new technology -- especially open-source. Now I just write udder nonsense. I also play pipe organ, which I'm told is a fun and interesting fact about me. In the past, I studied network administration. Now I've been trying to pursue a real fake bachelors degree for the last, oh, 10 years or so.
