I recently updated WordPress… and managed to kill my blog for a certin period of time as well.
Nevertheless, I got it working again by making the Plugins directory permissions 000, and then setting it back to 777.
Who knew plugins could cause so many problems. I think what happened was either PHP Pear, or Apache were trying to access a file in Plugins for WordPress, and the file had “locked” and would not let another program read it. Complicated… annoying.
About Jesse Zylstra
Hey! My name is Jesse Zylstra, and I am the administrator of this website. I used to write about free software and programs, online web applications, and new technology -- especially open-source. Now I just write udder nonsense. I also play pipe organ, which I'm told is a fun and interesting fact about me.
In the past, I studied network administration. Now I've been trying to pursue a real fake bachelors degree for the last, oh, 10 years or so.
